Week 48 - San Roque 5/14/2012

alright so i got to talk to a few of you earlier this morning but for those of you that didn't get to talk to me this week was fun we were able to teach a few lessons and what not i prepared a primary program for mothers day and they completely changed it because the kids didn't want to sing the songs i picked then during sacrament meeting i had them thank their moms for things and they were all to afraid to speak and one of them whose mom wasn't there spoke and said mom even though you aren't here i want to wish you a happy valentines day it was really fun to hear some of the things they had to say but as well as some of you know i have decided we need more musical numbers in our branch so I'm starting a choir so if any of you have some good choir music you would like to send me i would be glad to give it a try i have a few helpers who actually know how to play the piano one is the district choir director so she will be a big help but it needs to happen the music is lacking now that i actually have a real appreciation for hymns and things there like arent any so i joined the district choir and we are singing a song called a marvelous work its pretty good but really hard for me because unlike before where i just followed moms lead in the choir for tenor i am now the lead for ever one else and its a lot harder than i thought it would be but its all good one of the best things that happened this week is that we taught one of the old branch presidents here in san roque branch on saturday and at the beggining of the lesson he wouldnt even look us in the eyes but we could tell something changed with him in the end and then he came to church and participated in priesthood class and gave some really good insights on the lesson it was amazing i just hope we can get him a good home teacher soon and visiting teacher for his wife who is basically catholic now so they need a little help just need to help the members understand that if they aren't tired from full-filling their calling they aren't doing it right lol Ive learned full-filling your calling takes a whole lot more than Sunday and that's a big problem we have here  since basically just me in the whole branch and i still don't feel like i completely full-fill my calling but its coming along its hard since i still have a calling in the mission as well but i feel like i have this stuff for a reason and on thing i feel like is a success this week my companion is kind of a disobedient elder but after our companion exchanges Wednesday he came to me and said elder i only have 4 months left i want to become more responsible before i go home yay thank you he is slowly changing but its hard to get out of all of his old habits right away but i feel there is a big difference in our work but for the exchange we went on i went to a place called Canmogsay with an elder whose name is elder smith he has been in the Philippines for about a week and so ya does not know the language he is really good for one week but its still hard to teach and set appointments for him since i don't know his schedule but we got some things done and i set some things up with my friends so that their investigator can get married faster so that was good and i really want to train now its so much fun to constantly be sharing the things i have learned the past year just anything i feel like i could talk forever its amazing i learn so much every day well that's kind of it for this week i love you all and thank you for the music mom and sister Ellsworth your awesome hope i can get this song going and i will try to record it for you one day with my Filipino choir but untill next week ingat kayo sa mga aswang
