Week 47 - San Roque 5/6/2012

so this week has been different not really sure what else i need to do but something is missing but Tuesday i cancelled my district meeting for the funeral which was ridiculous because here in the Philippines after the service at the church you follow the hertz to the cemetery and then the person is buried but ill get to that in a sec but Tuesday morning i had to leave at about 6:30 so that i make it by 7 to finish and print the program for the funeral service but i got to the church and president wasn't there so i had no key to the clerks office to use the computer since my key is broken so then we had to go try and find President Acala who wasn't at home and wasn't with the people who had the dead person so we sent out some youth to find him and finally he showed up at about 7:30 and i hopped on a members pedicab and drove it to the church with my companion riding then i fixed the program put in the speakers and started printing and finished at about 8:15 and the funeral service was supposed to be at 8 but they have whats called Filipino time so it means nine which is horrible but true so like when we tell people what time something is they say American time or Filipino time lol but of course its always Filipino time to them no matter what i say to them but ya so after i printed the program they changed the speakers and the songs and one of the prayers gee thanks but i just crossed it out and started the meeting after the body got there it was so weird the body was right in the middle of the chapel during the meeting and i could see him the whole time i was conducting weird since i am the one that blessed him and then he died ouch but that's ok they knew and i knew that he was gone but anyway then after the service they had us carry the casket back out to the hertz and then we locked the church and started our walk turns out its 7 kilometers to the cemetery ouch but then we did the burial part and i made the branch president use his priesthood and he dedicated the grave i figured out i have to make them do stuff or they will never learn and i will never transfer but then we went back and ate lunch then i tried to help a sister apply for a mission at the church but the branch president hasn't been authorized yet so it didn't happen then the first councilor left so no more branch presidency meeting ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh we were supposed to be picking a new clerk so i don't have to do it but i guess it can wait till tomorrow but ya so then we went and visited a few members since elder apat doesnt really know where anything is yet then Wednesday i cancelled district meeting again because our support money came and we were like almost out of money so we went to Tacloban got money ate pizza shopped then went to the eye doctor for elder apat but turns out they are only open in the morning and it was now 12 so we set an appointment for Saturday and headed home and went to to our area to to meet with some Melchizedek priesthood for the district president and then Thursday we were super busy as well we met with the rest of the Melchizedek priesthood on or list and and then headed home to have weekly planning then Friday we had companionship exchanges with the zone leaders and i helped build a house in the morning for a service project then went to visit the 1st councilor and the branch president and we tried to contact a referral from a YW in the branch but it didn't happen but during one of the lessons we gave to the 1st councilor brother jun we were trying to motivate him to more fully full-fill his calling and he started talking about sometimes its hard to do our calling because we have other things to do and i remembered mom because she has always said there is a difference between needs and wants but i realized if we just always do the things that are needed the time will come for us to be able to do the things we want it was awesome then the branch president gave us some coconuts and we headed home for evaluation and i needed to set up my companionship exchanges with my district so then Saturday we went to the eyes doctor and so much for only being open in the morning the doctor doesn't even show up until almost 11 and then only works to twelve that's messed up and then we went and ate at a place called show king and it was delicious and then headed back for branch presidency training and talked about our temple trip that's coming up for the youth i feel like no one does planning in advance in this country the temple trip is in two weeks and they are going to Cebu like that's kind of a big thing but whatever I'm not responsible i tried volunteering to go but of course i cant but whatever then i helped the other branch presidents from other branches make lds.org accounts and ya so that's fun teaching old people how to use electronics is so hard sometimes but that's ok at least they are willing to try then Sunday the fun part i got to church we got things going and the attendance was about 15 but it did make it to 42 but we started writing all the announcements down and then a member came and wanted a blessing good thing its fast Sunday so we did that and then i got to do something a little bit differently in sacrament yesterday i gave a child a name and blessing in sacrament meeting really weird i always thought my first would be my child but i guess not the lady wanted me to do it since her husband isn't a member yet so ya but one problem Saturday night i was sick and didn't sleep so the morning was fine but then it came time for classes and all the teachers were absent and everyone started complaining because they cant have class if there is no teacher i got a little angry and chastised the primary presidency because apparently you cant teach a class if you haven't been set apart for that calling so they were just talking a while the kids ran around the church playing and disturbing all the other classes and then i learned the RS went home because there was no teacher they are lucky i was teaching the primary kids didn't know they left since they didn't have a children's song book they left it at home luckily for them i have memorized the song they wanted to teach so i wrote the words on the board and then they re-wrote them since my hand writing is horrible  but still i got some things going even though i missed priesthood class but they all seemed to see a difference when they actually do something and as i said earlier luckily it was fast Sunday so the spirit was really strong and the chastisement was from the spirit and it helped them then i made the branch president and 1st councilor do tithing so they could learn and they almost can do it all on their own yay for old people lol but then we had another temple trip meeting at 2 so we went to that then it ended at 5 and i tried to help with missionary papers again still nothing then we helped with the Tolosa branch primary program and waited to start district choir but they didn't show up because of some arguments that happened during sacrament as they bore their testimonies wow well that's about all just doing my best to stay sane with all this mess maybe next week things will change a little but for now i love these people and i don't want to leave well i love you all and ill try and find out whats happening I'm guessing i will either be texting you or emailing again at some point because they haven't made a decision yet on the whole calling you guys thing yet so i guess we just have to wait until christmas lol i sure hope not but ya ill let you
